It is believed that once Goddess Parvati lost her ear rings in the lake here. When she reported this to master Shiva, he looked at the lake with excellent rage. Due to this rage the nutrient water here became very hot and started steaming. Since then hot rises are formed here.

Tattapani in Mandi

The word Tattapani itself means hot nutrient water. The hot springs here are organic sulphur rises. It is located at distance of about 50 kms from capital Shimla. However, it comes under the Mandi area of Himachal Pradesh. Hot springs of Tattapani also have the healing benefits. The sulphur nutrient demolished in nutrient water allows in treating various bodily illnesses. Tattapani is located on the right bank of the river Sutlej.

Vashisht in Kullu

Vashisht hot springs are in the Manali area of Kullu area. The position is named after the Vashisht Rishi of Lord Rama’s era. The nutrient water ‘kunds’ are present in the centre of the village. Hot Rises at Khirganga (Region Kullu)

Another Hot Spring site is Khirganga. It is 26 km. from Kullu and 10 km. from Pulga. It is also well-known for hot mineral water springs. Here, the mineral water heat distance is much reduced than that of ManiKaran.
