Four buried alive in house collapse in Himachal village
Palampur(Himachal Pradesh), sep 17: Two women and an equal number of children were buried alive and three others sustained serious injuries when a house collapsed following heavy rains in Thalla village six kilometers from Palampur last night. The deceased were identified as Rekha (22) and her four- month-old son and Sudershan (23) and her two-year-old daughter, they said ading while two bodies had been recovered from under the debris by the rescue team, the remaining two were yet to be retrieved.The injured were admitted to a hospital here and an immediate relief of Rs 10,000 announced for the affected families, they said.Meanwhile, as the approach road to the village had been breached at several points due to non-stop rains, ambulance and fire brigade could not reach the site and the district officer and rescue team had to walk nearly five km to reach the spot, they added.
