(i) Duration of Courses:
Two academic years, from the
date of admission.
(ii) Session for admission:
Bi-Annually, in the month of April and October. Number of
students to be admitted in each session will be according to the Post-graduate
teachers in the sociality concerned as per recommendations of Medical Council of
India from time to time.
(iii) Syllabus and Method of Training:
Syllabus shall be subject wise form time to time with
necessary knowledge of applied basic sciences. Fundamentals of the concerned
subject and recent advances with adequate theoretical and practical knowledge of
the speciality will be provided. Grades responsibility on the management and
treatment of patients and participation in teaching and training programmes of
undergraduate students in their subjects will be allowed.
(iv) Examination:
Shall be held twice in a year (April/May and
October/November).
It will be consists of two parts :-
Part-A Thesis
Part-B Written Papers (Theory) Clinical, Oral and
Practical.
Part-A: Thesis
Thesis shall be compulsory and shall embody the
candidates own work under supervisor qualified for the purpose as recommended
by the Medical Council of India.
The protocol of the subjects shall be submitted to a
committee consisting of 3 members to be appointed by Dean of admission to the
course.
After the approval of the plan of the thesis four
copies of thesis shall be required to be submitted by the candidate to the
University any time 6 months but not later than 3 months prior to the
scheduled date of final examination.
The acceptance of the thesis shall be a pre-condition for appearance in the final examination (Part-B). In case of objection on
thesis, requiring resubmission, the same may be submitted after appearing in
part-B but where objection on thesis meant rejection the candidate will not be
allowed to appear in Part B till the outcome of fresh thesis.
Thesis will be examined by two examiners
appointed for this purpose (one Internal and One External).
The thesis shall be accepted after unanimous approval of the examiners.
The report of examiners on the Thesis will be sent by the Controller Examinations to the candidate at least 1 month before the
actual commencement of Part-B examination.
Part-B: Theory
There shall be four papers with three question in each
speciality to be answered in three hours. The papers in each speciality will be
as follows :-
1. ANAESTHESTIOLOGY (M.D.)
Part-A: Theory Examination: There shall be 4 papers as
under:
Paper-I Clinical anaesthesia. Paper-II Recent advances
in Anaesthesiology. Paper-III Surgery, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology
as applied to anaesthesiology. Paper-IV Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology,
Pathology and basic sciences as applied to Anaesthesiology.
Part-B: Clinical, Practical and Oral
examination.
2. COMMUNITY MEDICINE
Part-A: Theory Examination: There shall be 4 papers as
under :-
Paper-I Basic and Public Health Sciences
(Statistics, Social Sciences, Nutrition, Environmental sanitation and
Genatics). Paper-II Epidemiology and Tropical Medicine (General
Principles of opidemiology central of communicable
and non-communicable diseases, applied microbiology and medical
entomology. Paper-III Public Health Administration, General Principles
of health planning and Administration, Personal and
community health services and occupational health. Paper-IV Recent
advances in Preventive and Social Medicine.
Part-B Clinical, Practical and Oral
examination.
3. MEDICINE (M.D.)
Part-A Theory examination: There shall be 4 papers as
under:-
Paper-I Basic Medical Sciences in relation to
Medicine. Paper-II Principles and practice of Medicine. Paper-III Tropical
Medicine, paediatrics and Psychiatry in relation to Medicine. Paper-IV
Medicine in relation to community.
Part-B Clinical, practical and Oral Examination.
4. OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY (M.D)
Part-A Theory Examination: There shall be 4 paper as
under:-
Paper-I Embryology applied Anatomy and physiology,
Pharmacology, Pathology, Endocrinology Radiology and Operative Surgery in relation to obstetrics and Gynaecology. Paper-II Obstetrics and Diseases of New born. Paper-III
Gynaecology. Paper-IV Applied clinical sciences in relation to obstetrics and
Gynaecology and recent advances.
Part-B Clinical, practical and Oral Examination.
5. OPHTHALMOLOGY (M.D)
Part-A Theory Examination: There shall be 4 papers as
under :-
Paper-I Applied basic sciences in relation to
ophthalmology. Paper-II Refraction, optic and medical
ophthalmology. Paper-III General Ophthalmology including Public Health
aspects. Paper-IV Ophthalmic Surgery and recent advances.
Part-B Clinical, Practical and Oral
examination.
6. PHARMACOLOGY (M.D.)
Part-A Theory Examination: There shall be 4 papers as
under:-
Paper-I History of pharmacology, General Pharmacology,
Cellular pharmacology, Chemical Pharmacology, Bioapsay and Biostatistics. Paper-II Pharmacology of ANS/CNS, autocoids and experimental pharmacology. Paper-III Pharmacology of CVS, Kindney, GI Tract, Respiratory System, Chemother-apeutis
agents. Paper-IV Recent advances in pharmacology, clinical pharmacology and
thraoeutics.
Part-B Practical and Oral examination.
7. PHYSIOLOGY (M.D.)
Part-A Theory Examination: There shall be 4 Papers as
under:-
Paper-I General physiology including comparative,
ellundar and History of Physiology. Paper-II Systemic physiology:
Cardiovescular, Respiratory, Nervous, system and Special senses and its
application in altered conditions. Paper-III Systemic human physiology:
Endocrinology, Reproduction, Digestive system, Block, Body Fluids and
Excretions. Paper-IV Recent advances in Physiology.
Part-B Practical and Oral examination.
8. RADIO-DIAGNOSIS (M.D.)
Part-A Theory Examination: There shall be 4 papers as
under :-
Paper-I The basic sciences as applied to
Radio-diagnosis. Paper-II Principles and practice of
Radio-diagnosis. Paper-III Pathology as applied to
Radio-Diagnosis. Paper-IV Physics as applied to Radio-diagnosis Dark Room
techniques.
Part-B Clinical, practical and Oral exdamination.
9. SURGERY (M.D.)
Part-A Theory Examination: There shall be 4 papers as
under:-
Paper-I Basic Medical Sciences as applied to Surgery
including surgical pathology. Paper-II General Surgery. Paper-III
Surgical specialities as applied to General Surgery and operative
Surgery. Paper-IV Recent advances in Surgery.
Part-B Clinical, practical and oral examination.
