Himachal Governor honours teachers on Teacher’s Day
V.S.Kokje, Governor, conferred State Awards and honoured Durga Dass of District Hamirpur, Subhash Chand and Ranvir Singh of district Kangra, Shashi Duggal of District Sirmour and Prakash Chand Rao of district Bilaspur with citations and cash awards of Rs. 25,000 each besides giving cash prizes of Rs. 50 thousand each to the national awardee teachers Kailash Sharma and Santosh Singh of District Sirmour and Sunder Lal Chauhan of District Shimla in a dignified function organised by the State Education Department on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, at Raj Bhawan here today. Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister presided over the function.
Addressing the award function V.S.Kokje gave a clarion call to the teaching fraternity to dedicate themselves to achieve the target of imparting excellent education to the students which needed to be value based for building India a strong Nation. He said that the State was bound to emerge the centre of par excellence learning as the educational network was best in the country.
Kokje said that the teacher student relationship was most pious and needed to be maintained for the benefit of the society. He stressed upon the need to follow the teachings of the Dr. S.Radhakrishanan who had dedicated his life to the nation and was known philosopher and educationist the world over, the nation has been celebrating his birthday as Teacher’s Day every year. |
