There is no specific cuisine of Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh is close associated with Punjab. and large migration of Tibetans. Combinations of these two, can be on the cuisine of the state. Some of the unique Himachali recipes include

Nasasta: It is sweetmeat of the Kangra region.
Indra: This dish is made of Urad dal.
Baadi or Ghaunda and Bada or Poldu of the Shimla region.
The popular dishes of the state are Pateer, Chouck, Bhagjery and chutney of Til.

The traditional as well as typical Himachal food is corn, rice beans, pulses, potatoes, yam, wheat and milk products. Himachal also produces a large variety of fruits including apples, cherries, plums, apricots, peaches, pears and also litchis. One is sure to find a beehive in every home in the rural part of Himachal.

These people are very fond of keeping bees. Non-vegetarian food is quite popular and preferred in Himachal Pradesh.

Apart from its natural beauty, Himachal Pradesh is also known for dishing out one of the most delicious cuisines of India. Though Himachali cuisine, as it is commonly known, is not as varied as other Indian cuisines, it does have a distinctive taste of its own.
