Kinnaur the tribal district of Himachal
Pradesh consists of POOH, MOORANG, KALPA, NICHAR and SANGLA. It has been
recently thrown open to the visitors and now one can start from Shimla
to Kinnaur, Spiti, Lahaul to Manali or to Leh. Kinnaur is in the lap of
the high Himalayan mountains rugged and cragy terrain which has fascination
and beauty of its own. Last but not the least, for the anthropologist,
scholars, writers and artists, the attractive tribal inhabitation of this
tribal region where the Hindu, Buddhists cultures meet. The area of Kinnaur
is about 6401 Sq. kms.
DAY 01 : SHIMLA-SARAHAN
Takes about 9 hours from Shimla
to Sarahan, visit the famous Bhimakali temple and overnight in Camp/Hotel.
DAY 02 : SARAHAN-RAKCHHAM (Sangla
Valley)
The natural scenery all around and
the eternal snow view are picturesque. On the way visit the Kamroo Castle
in Sangla and Over night camp in Rakchham ahead of Sangla, in a beautiful
location surrounded by lush green forests. Takes five to six hours.
DAY 03 : REKCHHAMTOAKBAIRIBBA VIAKALPA
This day visit Chhitkul the last
village in the Baspa valley sitated on the right bank. Visit to temple
of local goddess Mathi said to have been constructed about 500 years ago.
Same day drive to Kalpa, sight seeing in Kalpa and over night in Akba near
Ribba village.
DAY 04 : AKBA-YANGTRANG
On the way visit to Moorang village
and camp in Yangthang.
